Can you get a medical card for anxiety and depression in Ohio / Is anxiety one of the Ohio medical mj conditions?

No, anxiety and depression are not on the list of qualifying conditions for a medical card in Ohio. Medical ma doctors can only recommend medical mj to patients diagnosed with an Ohio medical mj condition.

Medical MJ Ohio Requirements

In order to obtain medical mj treatment in Ohio, you first have to meet the following requirements:

  1. Get a recommendation for medical mj by a licensed Ohio medical mj doctor. Once they’ve certified you, they will create your patient profile in the OMMCP Patient & Caregiver Registry.
  2. Complete your registration for the program through the Patient & Caregiver Registry. This step will involve paying the $50 annual fee for patients, or $25 for caregivers. However, patients who qualify for indigent or veteran status may be eligible for fee reductions.
  3. Once your application has been approved by the OMMCP and you are considered a qualifying patient, you should receive your Ohio medical card within 30 days. Afterward, patients can purchase medical mj products from any dispensary that has a certificate of operation from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.

Ohio Medical Card Qualifications

  1. All patients must be 18 (eighteen) years or older to qualify for the Ohio medical mj card. But, qualifying patients younger than 18 may enroll as a minor for the medical mj program if a caregiver applies on their behalf.
  2. All applicants must be residents of Ohio.
  3. Most importantly, qualifying patients must be diagnosed with at least one of the qualifying conditions for a medical card in Ohio. Additionally, patients must have a recommendation from a Certified-To-Recommend (CTR) doctor in Ohio verifying their diagnosis.

What Documents Do I Need to Submit?

All patients must upload the following documents during the registration process:

  • A clear, colored, full-face photograph submitted in digital format.
  • A physician diagnosis less than 90 days old from the day of application submission.
  • Proof of identity. For instance, Ohio driver’s license, any other state-issued ID issued by the Ohio bureau of motor vehicles (BMV), or a valid United States Passport.
  • Proof of residency. For example, an Ohio voter ID.

Where Can I Buy Medical MJ and MMJ Products in Ohio?

You can buy medical mj from any dispensary in Ohio certified by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, as soon as you have your medical mj card.

Also, all patients should remember:

  • The maximum amount of medical mj that you can purchase at a dispensary can’t exceed a 90-day supply. Your mj doctor will determine your 90-supply based on their evaluation of your needs.
  • Patients must always take their Ohio medical mj card and another form of photo ID  with them to the mj dispensary.
  • For Minor Patients: Caregiver or guardian supervision is essential when buying medical mj at an Ohio dispensary. Similarly ,designated caregivers to adult patients must carry caregiver proof of ID.
